Fluid furniture

Here's some work by furniture designer, Lila Jang. Taking traditional forms and reinventing them. The cool thing is they are all still functional as well...

Furniture as art...

“Topography of War”,  Instanbul, TK, 2003

Here's some inspirational work by Doris Salcedo, who takes ordinary objects and uses their embodied histories to impress upon people the weight of time and meaning inherent in everyday items. 1600 chairs were used in the making of this monstrous work of urban art. To further charge her work she frequently puts it right in public view, displacing a space people normally think of as empty to send her political, economic and historical messages.

More upcoming projects!

We were very lucky recently to pick up these mid-century modern pieces and this industrial drafting table. They have tons of potential...

Danish lounge chair circa 1965

Industrial drafting table

Six teak Scandinavian dining chairs

Art Deco Sideboard

This piece was a labor of love. It was saved from the curb during the summer, and it needed a lot of work to bring it back to working condition. Dave spent lots of time fixing all the drawers, hinges and warped panels. The glass was replaced and a fresh coat of paint (Benjamin Moore colour Gloucester Sage) was added. It was originally made in 1939 by the North American Bent Chair Co. Ltd. from Owen Sound, Ontario. It has lots of storage and can be used as a sideboard/hutch or a dresser.
