Art Deco Sideboard

This piece was a labor of love. It was saved from the curb during the summer, and it needed a lot of work to bring it back to working condition. Dave spent lots of time fixing all the drawers, hinges and warped panels. The glass was replaced and a fresh coat of paint (Benjamin Moore colour Gloucester Sage) was added. It was originally made in 1939 by the North American Bent Chair Co. Ltd. from Owen Sound, Ontario. It has lots of storage and can be used as a sideboard/hutch or a dresser.

  1. Great job! I share your passion for giving a piece of furniture a new life. There's not a lot of money to be made from doing so (in my area) but it still feels like a worthwhile endeavour or, as you so aptly put it, a labour of love! I tend to be drawn by small Victorian tables (mahogany & walnut) which generally require refinishing (opposed to painting) but definitely I LOVE the color you chose for this piece.
